Pope Francis, 88, has been hospitalized since February 14 due to several lung-related challenges, including double pneumonia.

He has experienced multiple breathing difficulties and is currently receiving treatment.

The Vatican reported that the Pope slept well last night. However, he will miss the start of Lent, which begins on Wednesday, as he continues his recovery.

Pope Francis has been in stable condition and did not require mechanical ventilation after a respiratory crisis on Friday.

He continues to receive high-flow supplemental oxygen and has shown improvement in his respiratory function.

The Pope thanked his doctors for their care and well-wishers for their prayers, expressing solidarity with people who are sick and suffering.
