FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – President Donald Trump addressed concerns about the stock market’s sharp decline following his tariff announcements, stating, “Sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something.”
Speaking aboard Air Force One on Sunday evening, Trump emphasized that the tariffs are not intended to cause market sell-offs but are part of his strategy to address trade imbalances.
Trump noted that trading partners are “coming to the table” for negotiations and reiterated his stance that he will not make a deal with China unless the trade deficit is resolved.
He also mentioned discussions with European and Asian leaders regarding the tariffs.
