FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Ukrainian representatives are participating in an international meeting in Türkiye focused on Black Sea security, Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi said Wednesday.
Speaking at a press briefing in Kiev, Tykhyi stated that Ukraine is discussing maritime security guarantees with its partners.
Experts from the “Coalition of the Willing,” a group of nations supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, are presenting proposals on the potential presence of a maritime contingent in the Black Sea.
Tykhyi emphasized that Ukraine seeks long-term security guarantees that extend beyond land-based defense to include air and sea protection.
Türkiye is hosting the meeting on April 15-16 to address Black Sea security following a possible ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
