FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep concern Wednesday over ongoing drone attacks on Port Sudan, warning that the escalating violence could lead to significant civilian casualties.
The Red Sea port city, which serves as the headquarters for Sudan’s government and military, has been targeted daily this week by drone strikes. The attacks have raised fears of further destabilization in the war-torn country.
Guterres called the situation a “major escalation” and urged all parties to avoid actions that could worsen the humanitarian crisis.
