FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus recorded 51 fatal workplace accidents between 2017 and 2022, according to data released by the European Statistical Institute.
The number of fatalities fluctuated over the years, with 2 in 2017, 9 in 2018, 10 in 2019, 16 in 2020, 5 in 2021, and 9 in 2022.
While overall workplace accidents decreased significantly—from 2,070 in 2017 to 1,335 in 2022—the fatality rate remained concerning.
