The Cyprus Olympic Committee announced Wednesday that its annual Olympic Day road races will take place Sunday, Sept. 28, in the Troodos mountain region, specifically in the communities of Kyperounta and Chandria.
The event is part of the committee’s celebration of Olympic Day, which began this year with the “Let’s Move +1” initiative held June 23 at the Olympic House in Nicosia. The road races mark the culmination of the committee’s annual Olympic Day activities.
For another consecutive year, the committee has chosen to hold the event outside the capital, aiming to engage communities across the island and highlight the symbolic and inclusive nature of the celebration. The Troodos region, known for its natural beauty, cultural heritage and longstanding athletic tradition, is expected to lend a distinctive character to the event.
The races are supported by the Office of the Commissioner for Mountain Development. The committee expressed its gratitude to Commissioner Charalambos Christofinas for his collaboration.
Organizers also thanked their sponsors, including Diamond Sponsor OPAP Cyprus, Platinum Sponsors LOGICOM and EUROBANK, and Gold Sponsor PETROLINA.
