A 13‑year‑old boy is in serious condition at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia after a scooter accident in Larnaca on Sunday, police said.
The boy was riding an electric scooter late in the morning on a road in Aradippou, heading toward the livestock area of Livadia, when he lost control and fell, according to the authorities. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
He was taken by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital and later transferred to Makarios Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. He is being treated in the paediatric intensive care unit.
Doctors said he suffered an occipital skull fracture, a subdural hematoma, a subarachnoid hemorrhage and multiple abrasions. His condition is described as serious.
