FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Direct flights between Beijing and Tel Aviv have resumed, as a Hainan Airlines plane landed at Ben-Gurion International Airport early Thursday morning, marking the end of an 18-month suspension.

The Beijing-Tel Aviv route will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, with a flight time of approximately nine hours, according to Yu Chaojie, president of Hainan Airlines.

The airline also maintains a route connecting Tel Aviv with Shenzhen, in southeastern China.

At a ceremony marking the resumption, Chen Arieli, deputy mayor of Tel Aviv, welcomed the flights’ return, emphasizing their role in enhancing ties between China and Israel.

The route, first launched in April 2016, was suspended in October 2023 due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

With the restoration of these flights, Hainan Airlines reinforces its position as a key player in fostering international connections between the two nations.
