More than 160,000 citizens of Cyprus are not registered to vote ahead of next year’s parliamentary election, most of them young adults, officials said.
Interior Ministry Director General Ellikos Ilia told reporters the House will dissolve April 23, with elections set for May 24.
The deadline to sign up for the electoral roll is April 2.
Ilia said 160,094 citizens remain unregistered. Of those, 52.6% are between 18 and 25.
Authorities urged eligible voters to register before the deadline to ensure participation in the 2026 vote.
