Cyprus First Lady Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides praised the work of the Independent Social Support Agency during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace, marking the launch of applications for the new academic year.
The agency provided assistance to 1,098 university students last year, continuing its mission to support young people facing financial hardship. The application period for the upcoming academic cycle opens on Oct. 27 and closes Nov. 17.
Speaking at the event, held in the presence of the President of the Republic, Karsera-Christodoulides emphasized that supporting the agency is not an act of charity, but “an investment in our youth.”
She described education as the most powerful tool society can offer a child and stressed that “no young person should be excluded from higher education due to socioeconomic difficulties.”
This year marks the agency’s 10th anniversary of continuous service.
