Cyprus Police are taking part in a Europe‑wide week of awareness and traffic enforcement targeting truck and bus drivers, as part of a coordinated Roadpol campaign.
The initiative, carried out across all member states of the European Roads Policing Network, focuses on informing professional drivers about current legislation and the risks associated with non‑compliance, while increasing roadside checks.
Police said inspections will concentrate on driver and vehicle documentation, speed‑limiting devices and tachographs, adherence to driving and rest‑time rules, and the mechanical condition of heavy vehicles.
Officers will also target violations linked to serious and fatal crashes, including speeding.
Cyprus Police said traffic checks will be intensified throughout the road network and again urged professional drivers to comply with traffic laws and regulations.
