Cyprus is seeing notable growth in its defense‑industry sector, President Nikos Christodoulides said Friday, pointing to rising investment and a stronger role in Europe’s security landscape.
Speaking at the opening of the third international defense and security conference in Nicosia, Christodoulides said the country is becoming a meaningful contributor to the European defense ecosystem and to dual‑use technologies.
He said Cypriot companies have secured about €48 million in direct funding, boosting their technological capacity, product development and industrial output. The investment, he added, has helped establish Cyprus as “a reliable and credible co‑producer in Europe’s defense supply chain.”
