The Tax Department said the messages aim to steal bank account and personal information.
Officials clarified that all VAT and income tax refunds are issued only via bank transfer, using IBAN details securely submitted by the taxpayer.
Citizens are urged to ignore unsolicited emails and report suspicious activity.
