Cyprus plans to establish a national advisory committee on oral health to help shape a long‑term strategy and action plan, Health Minister Neofytos Charalambides has said.
The committee will bring together government services and professional bodies to align national policy with World Health Organization guidelines, he explained.
Charalambides highlighted ongoing cooperation between state dental services and the Cyprus Dental Association, including a program providing dental care for pupils in first and fifth grade. Mobile dental units also visit primary schools as part of prevention campaigns.
He said improving access to dental care and reducing inequalities remain key goals of the ministry, noting the link between oral health and overall well‑being.
