Agriculture Minister Maria Panagiotou said that the occupancy rate for this year is 26.4%, while during the corresponding period last year it was 45.3%.
Mrs. Panagiotou reported that the most water inflow has occurred at the Kourris and Arminou dams and the least at the Lefkara and Kannaviou dams.
At the same time, the Minister of Agriculture appealed to citizens to be frugal in their use of water.
During the summer, it was reported that the ‘water situation at dams in Cyprus is “like a nightmare” and the capacity rate in some of them had dropped to 10 percent’.
