FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Former auditor-general Odysseas Michaelides has launched his new political party, Alma, on Monday.
The party was introduced at Michaelides’ office in Nicosia.
The name also serves as an acronym for the Greek words meaning dignity, accountability, reform, and development.
Michaelides was joined by eight associates, including Constantinos Christofides, former rector of the University of Cyprus, who ran for president in 2023 and finished sixth with just under 1.6% of the vote.
