FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to four months in prison, suspended, and banned from entering sports venues for three years after being found guilty of using dangerous objects at a sporting event, a Larnaca court ruled.
The incident occurred on December 23, 2022, at Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium during disturbances that led to the suspension of a football match between Anorthosis and Karmiotissa.
Authorities said the conviction underscores efforts to curb violence in sports venues.
