Police in Cyprus have arrested a 25‑year‑old Lebanese man at Larnaca Airport who was wanted by Germany on suspicion of involvement with Hamas.
Police spokesman Byron Byronos told CyBC Radio that the suspect arrived in Cyprus last Friday night intending to travel onward to another European country. During passport control, officers discovered that he was the subject of a European arrest warrant and listed as a wanted person in Interpol records.
According to Byronos, the man has already appeared in court and raised no objection to being extradited to Germany.
