Holidaymakers in Cyprus reported seeing Iranian missiles streaking across the night sky as tensions between Israel and Iran escalated.

According to the Daily Mirror, videos circulating on social media captured bright flashes over the eastern Mediterranean, with tourists describing the sight as surreal.

One traveler, identified as Bri, posted a clip from her hotel pool, writing, “You’re having a nice drink in Cyprus and then you see Iranian missiles heading towards Israel.” Belgian national Filipe de Almeida shared a similar video, saying, “My heart felt so heavy watching this.”

At the same time, Turkish Cypriot ‘Prime Minister’ Ünal Üstel has addressed recent developments both globally and locally, highlighting the escalating tensions in the region following the Iran-Israel conflict. According to Kibris, Üstel warned, “The missile launches exchanged during the night, visible from Cyprus, demonstrate how close the danger is, even though we are not a party to the conflict.”

Meanwhile, Larnaca Airport has been packed since morning, serving as a transit hub for Israelis and foreign nationals seeking repatriation. Special flights to Haifa and Tel Aviv have been arranged, with hundreds passing through the airport.

The conflict continues to unfold, with regional security concerns mounting.
