Turkish Cypriot authorities have designated Hungarian national Bela Dienes a prohibited immigrant, citing security concerns and outstanding arrest warrants.
Police reported that Dienes, 67, is wanted by the Budapest Metropolitan Court on budget‑fraud charges and is listed in both national and international search records, according to information received from Turkey’s Interior Ministry.
Authorities said Dienes was deemed a potential threat to public order and state security under ‘Article 6(1)(g) of the Aliens and Immigration Law.’
Officials said the decision was based on assessments that he could incite hostility against the state or attempt to undermine state authority.
