Police arrested ten people overnight during targeted crime‑prevention operations carried out across Cyprus.
According to the Police Communications Branch, officers maintained a strong presence in key urban areas, conducting organized patrols aimed at preventing serious offenses, safeguarding public order and boosting the public’s sense of security.
The operations led to ten arrests on offenses including illegal stay in the Republic, burglary and theft. Police stopped 312 vehicles for checks and inspected 430 drivers and passengers. They also carried out 31 inspections of premises, issuing two citations.
Traffic enforcement resulted in 152 citations, 61 of them for speeding. Officers conducted 77 breath tests, with one driver testing positive. Three preliminary drug tests were administered, with one positive result. Police also impounded two vehicles as part of ongoing investigations.
Authorities said the daily operations will continue with reinforced patrols, targeted checks and rapid response measures to prevent and suppress crime and maintain public order.
