The Famagusta District Court on Tuesday sentenced a 25‑year‑old woman to six months in prison after finding her guilty of possessing a controlled drug — nitrous oxide — and of staying illegally in the Republic.
Police said the woman was arrested on 9 June 2026 after officers found a metal canister, 64 unused nitrous oxide capsules, 68 balloons and €100 in cash in her possession.
Checks also showed she was living illegally in the Republic of Cyprus.
