Road fatalities in Cyprus increased by 10 per cent last year, with 46 deaths recorded in 2025 compared with 42 in 2024, according to new data.
Despite the year‑on‑year rise, fatalities were 13 per cent lower than in 2019.
Across the European Union, the European Commission reported about 19,400 road deaths in 2025 — a three per cent decrease from the previous year, meaning 580 fewer people lost their lives on EU roads.
