NICOSIA, Cyprus — Police are investigating two separate vehicle fires that occurred in the early hours of Monday, causing property damage and prompting emergency response.

The first incident was reported at approximately 12:30 a.m. in Anthoupoli, where a car owned by a 49-year-old man caught fire. A nearby resident managed to extinguish the flames before they spread. Damage was reported to the vehicle’s license plates and roof covering. Investigators from the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department will continue examinations at first light.

Shortly after, around 2:40 a.m., authorities received information about a second vehicle fire involving a car owned by a 53-year-old man. The vehicle had been stationary for a week due to mechanical issues and was parked in an open area. It was completely destroyed. The Moni Police Station is handling the investigation.
