The Cypriot government is expected to announce in the coming days that UN Secretary‑General António Guterres will visit the island, according to local media reports.

State broadcaster RIK said July 27 is the most likely arrival date.

His personal envoy, María Ángela Holguín, is due to travel to Cyprus a few days earlier, following meetings in Brussels focused on next steps in efforts to revive talks on the Cyprus issue and convene an informal five‑party meeting.

In the Turkish‑occupied north, media reports said Guterres’ visit would run from July 27 to 29 and include separate meetings with President Nikos Christodoulides and Tufan Erhürman, as well as a joint trilateral session.
