The Customs Employees Union (Güç-Sen) in northern Cyprus is staging an hourly warning strike at Kyrenia Port on Monday morning in protest over unresolved air conditioning issues affecting both staff and passengers.
Union president Ediz Kanatlı said the malfunction has persisted for nearly two months, creating “serious difficulties” in daily operations.
Despite ongoing negotiations with the relevant parties over the past month, no resolution has been reached.
“As the Customs Employees Union, we’ve decided to hold a press conference and an hourly warning strike at 9:00 in the Kyrenia Port passenger lounge,” Kanatlı announced.
