More than 40% of road‑traffic deaths in Cyprus involve motorcycle riders, according to new police data reported by Politis.
The paper said 18 of the 45 fatal crashes recorded last year involved motorcyclists.
This year, seven of the 19 fatal crashes reported up to Monday also involved motorcycle riders.
The report said the rising number of motorcyclist deaths over the past two years has drawn particular concern.
