The European Union must reinforce its energy‑supply security amid rising prices driven by ongoing conflicts, Cyprus Energy Minister Michalis Damianou said Tuesday at an emergency meeting of EU energy ministers in Nicosia.
Damianou said the session focused on recent increases in energy costs, noting that supply remains secure for now.
Even so, he said European households are feeling the impact, with natural gas prices up about 70% and oil prices roughly 50%.
