Police arrested a 40‑year‑old man in Limassol in connection with a case of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife, authorities said.
Officers were alerted after a 45‑year‑old man was taken to Limassol General Hospital with serious injuries.
According to initial findings, the victim received a phone call during the night from the suspect, who asked him to come to his home to resolve personal differences.
The 45‑year‑old arrived with two relatives, and the suspect allegedly attacked him with spray and a knife.
The victim underwent surgery and remains in serious condition.
Before his arrest, the suspect was taken to a private clinic with a head injury, treated and discharged, police said.
