Limassol Police Arrest Woman in Alleged €250,000 Corporate Theft Case

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Limassol police have arrested a 48-year-old woman suspected of embezzling nearly €250,000 from a local company, authorities said Wednesday.

The suspect, who had been employed by the company, was taken into custody following an audit by an independent examiner.

The audit revealed a financial shortfall of approximately €250,000, allegedly accumulated between January 2011 and May 2025.

Investigators are examining possible charges including obtaining property by false pretenses, forgery, circulation of forged documents, and money laundering.

The case is being handled by the Financial Crime Investigation Office of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department.
