Marking the third anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, a peaceful protest took place outside the Russian embassy in Nicosia on Monday afternoon.
Despite a limited turnout, Ukrainians held placards with slogans like “Justice must not be exchanged,” sending a clear message of solidarity and peace. One protester said, “We must renew Ukraine within the 1991 borders.”
Protesters, with faces filled with sadness and anger, called for an end to hostilities and accountability for war crimes.
“How do they sleep and look at us from the window like always? How do they sleep when our children die?” asked one emotional protester.
