FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus recorded the lowest annual inflation rate among eurozone countries in July, with consumer prices rising just 0.1% year-on-year, according to preliminary figures from Eurostat.
The figure marks a further slowdown from June’s 0.5%.
France and Ireland followed with inflation rates of 0.9% and 1.6%, respectively.
At the other end of the spectrum, Estonia posted the highest rate at 5.6%.
The eurozone’s overall inflation held steady at 2.0%, matching the European Central Bank’s target.
Food, alcohol, and tobacco remained the main drivers of inflation, while energy prices continued to decline.
