A low‑pressure system is gradually moving into the region, with a cold air mass expected to arrive tomorrow.
This morning, skies will be mostly clear, with patches of cloud in the west. Conditions will turn partly cloudy and, at times, mostly cloudy, with isolated showers developing first in western areas and later elsewhere. Light snow or sleet is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to west at 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening later to 4 to 5 Beaufort and reaching 5 to 6 Beaufort along windward coasts. Seas will be slight to moderate, becoming locally rough later. Temperatures will reach around 20°C inland and along the coast, and 7°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, local showers and snow in the higher elevations are expected, with an isolated thunderstorm possible. Conditions will ease by morning. Winds will remain southwest to west at 4 to 5 Beaufort, lighter in sheltered areas, before shifting west to northwest at similar strength. Seas will be generally moderate. Temperatures will drop to 7°C inland, around 10°C on the coast, and 1°C in the higher mountains, where frost is likely.
From Thursday through Saturday, intervals of mostly clear weather will alternate with increased cloud cover, bringing a chance of isolated showers and occasional light snowfall in the mountains. The region will be affected by a relatively cold northerly flow.
Temperatures will fall noticeably through Friday, dropping below seasonal averages, before a slight rise on Saturday.
